Cowboys’ Moses charged with marijuana possession #420 #kush #mmot

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma State forward Marshall Moses has been charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.
According to the Oklahoma State Courts Network, Moses was charged Tuesday and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8.
Moses was suspended for Oklahoma State’s 79-61 victory over Coppin State on Tuesday night following his arrest early Monday morning.
It marked the first time coach Travis Ford had to deal with a player’s arrest during his two seasons at Oklahoma State.
“We’re dealing with it. Believe me. We’re doing everything we can to punish him enough to make him not want to do it again,” Ford said. “Our job is to make sure that he learns his lesson. That’s what it’s about is learning his lesson.
“Suspending him one game, 10 games? It’s not like I made a quick decision. I sat and thought about it.”
Ford said he picked up Moses from jail Monday morning after getting a phone call following his arrest shortly after midnight.
“I think it shocked him a little bit. … When I got the phone call, I went straight there immediately. I wanted him to know that he’s going to be held accountable by me but also we were going to support him as well,” Ford said.
“He’s hearing everything else that everybody’s hearing, but I told him, `I’m not going to throw you out in the middle of the sea and let you just swim by yourself. We’re going to make you learn your lesson and you need to become a better person for this. Sometimes you need a kick in the head.”‘
Ford said he expected the 6-foot-7 Moses, who is averaging 11.2 points and a team-high 10.2 rebounds, to play Saturday in the Cowboys’ Big 12 opener against No. 22 Texas Tech but he’s handling the situation “one day at a time.”
